New military leadership will work “end the lack of trust”: Imran
LAHORE: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday congratulated the newly appointed military leadership, expressing the hope that they work “end the prevailing deficit of trust” between nation and state.
In a tweet on On Wednesday, Imran congratulated new military team. “We hope that new military leadership will work end the prevailing trust deficit that built up in in last 8 months between nation and state.

“Strength of the state comes from people”, – the head of the PTI. added.
Together with message, imran also shared a screenshot of alleged quote from Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which some people on social media questioned the veracity of.
Last week, General Asim Munir, a soldier with significant operational experience and a great career in intelligence, was appointed commander of the country’s 17th army, and General Sakhir Shamshad Mirza, another infantry officer with enviable career, was appointed chairman of joint chiefs committee of personnel committee.
Appointments run out of weeks of tense discussions about who will lead in powerful military after the retirement of General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Gene Mirza took accusation on November 27, when General Munir assumed responsibility on 29th of November.
Imran slammed for selective memory’
Reacting to Imran’s announcement, Information Minister Marryum Aurangzeb took exception to his statement and asked if Quaid-i-Azam had also proposed an indefinite extension to the commander in chief of the army behind closed doors.

“You know that if you file a lawsuit, you will have to provide detailed information about the hours and all those details related to Toshakhana that have not yet been disclosed to the nation.
As for PTI announcement leave the provincial assemblies, she only told Imran wanted political instability and divisions in country.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz stated that Imran had “an electoral memory but a different people not.
“You collude with certain elements of institution, they educate and feed you like their godson. Now you’re begging for their unconstitutional interference and when you are denied it call they are traitors. Do you have the audacity to talk about a lack of trust? You think people fools,” she tweeted.
PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair was also of opinion that the head of PTI had “selective memory”.
